Selling
Rakhis Made by Senior Montessori Students
It was a marvellous experience of selling
rakhis to the parents of Senior Montessori students on August 25, 2018 during
their Orientation Meeting. The beautiful rakhis were prepared by the students
of Senior Montessori with help of their teachers. We sold these rakhis at a
price of INR 10 each to the parents who were more than happy to buy them at
such a nominal price. The rakhis were sold just a day prior to the festival of Raksha
Bandhan, an important Hindu festival symbolizing unconditional love between a
brother and a sister. The profit generated will be used for a charitable cause.
Such fundraising events develop our skills of interacting with customers along
with the skills of selling. Principal Mrs. Chandana Ranasinghe and teachers Mrs.
Thushari De Silva and Miss Harshini Jayatunga of St. Anthony’s Girls’ College, Kandy, Sri
Lanka who were visiting our school witnessed the Fundraising event and appreciated
the philanthropic endeavour of the school.
