FUNDRAISING
Selling
Senior School Handicrafts
The
‘School Enterprise Challenge’ an initiative of UK based NGO ‘Teach a Man to
Fish’ developed entrepreneurial competencies of the business team of grade 11
and 12 students enabling them to sell the handicrafts with confidence and ease.
The
event fostered entrepreneurship skills, communication, teamwork and confidence amongst the
students.
On
November 7, 2015 during the PTM of grade 6 to 10 students, our school
enterprise named Handy Handicrafts Organization (H2O) exhibited the handicraft products
made by students of Senior School. We raised funds by selling different
products made by the students during their Art and Club Activity periods. On
display were paintings made on recycled sheets, pen stands made from newspaper,
flower pots made from plastic bottles, decorative show pieces made from old
CDs, old greeting cards and file folders made from used card sheets, magazines
and files. The leftover earthen lamps prepared by Montessori children were also
put up for sale.
The profits
generated from the sale of handicrafts will be given to our partner school - Bwafwano
School in Zambia for the children living in extreme povertyfor whomthe school
meal is their only meal of the day.
