Skype Session WithDLF Public
School, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh
To extend our understanding and
establish valuable connections with different schools and businesses run by the
students as a part of School Enterprise Challenge, we had a skype session with
DLF Public School, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh on September 25, 2019.
The session was conducted under the supervision of lead teachers of both the
schools, viz., Mrs.Raminder Mac of our school and Dr. Himani and Ms. Neha Gupta
of DLF Public School.
The session started with our
General Manager Jyeshtha Mishra apprising the business team of DLF Public
School about our business enterprise followed by the question-answer session.
We discovered the following aspects of their enterprise:
· Their enterprise is run under the
banner Money Plant and is in function since 2012.
· They produce various items like
jewellery by paper quilling, candles, plants, handmade flowers etc. under five
different clubs.
· They have anorganised structure
for their enterprise which comprises of a Director followed by the CEO, CFO and
COO. Under this they have the team leaders of each club. Under the team leaders
each club has a marketing, sales and production officer.
· Like us, they also involve
students of Science, Commerce and Humanities stream in their business and do
not restrict the enterprise only to Commerce students.
· They together manage the whole
enterprise by checking the production of products, keeping up with demands and
marketing their products by performing street plays to attract the customers.
· They donate their profits to
charities and have been a part of the Chinmay mission.
· To approach the market and sell
their products outside the school they visit the nearby residential societies.
They have organized seven to eight 7 to 8 such events till date.
· To encourage and appreciate the
efforts made by the students their school awards batches to the students, holds
an investiture ceremony as well as gives away ‘The Entrepreneur of the Year
award’.
· They have an Instagram page and
frequently post on it to promote their business. They also make videos of each
club and broadcast them to the community.
· Their motto includes caring for
the environment for which they sell pollution sucking plants commonly known as
snake plants to fulfill the same. They also have a kitchen garden where they
grow coriander, sweet leaves and cauliflower.
We learned that even after facing
many challenges regarding their enterprise the young and dynamic students of
DLF Public School still having optimistic approach towards their business and
are keen to work hard and learn more. We were also amazed to see the confidence
in the students taking initiative in asking pertinent questions as well as answering
the questions put forth by us.
We were pleased to speak to the
students of DLF Public School, Sahibabad and look forward to have more such
sessions in the future
