INTERACTIVE SESSION
With Students and Teachers of Arjun English Boarding High School, Gulmi, Nepal
Our school was graced with the visit of eight students and two teachers of Arjun English Boarding High School, Gulmi, Nepal from January 15, 2020 to January 23, 2020. On January 16, 2020 a meeting of the business team of our enterprise ‘Good Earth’ was arranged with the students and teachers of Arjun family. A remarkable part of this visit was that Mr. Sudeep K. C., lead teacher of the business enterprise of Arjun English Boarding High School, Gulmi, Nepal who is also a member of the Teacher Advisory Panel of School Enterprise Challenge was visiting our school.
The discussions started from introduction of our business enterprise ‘Good Earth’ by Dhruvi Nagpal, General Manager of the business team followed by the introduction of their business. We learnt that the students of Arjun English Boarding High school have been a part of this challenge since 2017. Their first business was named 'Farmacy' in which they organically grew vegetables and sold them in their locality. The following year they had a pickle business in which they prepared pickles and sold them in their locality. We discussed about the various problems faced during running our businesses and how we try to overcome our challenges. Apart from this we also exchanged ideas on how we invest our profits. Our peers from Nepal use their profits to provide food to the needy, pay school fee of children who are unable to do so and provide stationary items to students who need them. It was astonishing to see how similar our enterprises and challenges are even though they are both based in completely different settings.
