Selling
Junior School Handicrafts
The ‘School Enterprise Challenge’ an initiative
of UK based NGO ‘Teach a Man to Fish’ organizationprovides the windows of
opportunities for developing the entrepreneurship competencies to bring fore
the business ideas of grade 11 and 12 students.
On August
22, 2015 during the PTM of Montessori students (Nursery, Junior Montessori and
Senior Montessori), our school enterprise named Handy Handicrafts Organization
(H2O) exhibited the handicraft products made by students of Junior School. We raised
funds by selling different products made by the students from Montessori to
grade 5 during their Art periods, Club Activity periods and Intra Class
Activities. Students of classes listed below made various products from
recycled material:
Cards,
bookmarks – Montessori students
Rakhis
– Montessori, grade 4 and 5
Candle
stand – Grade 3
Photo
frame – Grade 4
Napkin
holder – Grade 4
Flower
vase – Grade 5
Pen
stands – Grade 5
The salewill
raise funds for our partner school - Bwafwano School in Zambia for the children
living in grinding povertyand for many of them the school meal is their only meal of the day. This
noble deed conveyed that every pound really makes a huge difference. The event
benefitted the students of grade 11 and 12 to foster entrepreneurship skills, communication, teamwork and
self-confidence to reach their full potential in life.Ms. Charlotte Harris,
Head Teacher, Stoke Row C.E. Primary School, Oxfordshire, UK and Ms. Gillian
Fraser, Global Citizenship Co-ordinator of the same school who are visiting our
school from August 19 to August 28, 2015 appreciated the entrepreneurial
creativity of the students for the noble cause.
