Montessori
Children
of Senior Montessori with the assistance of their teachers made colourful
rakhis during the month of August 2018. The rakhis were prepared before the
advent of Raksha Bandhan festival, an important Hindu festival symbolizing
eternal love between the brother and the sister. The students used old
invitation cards brought from home, satin ribbon, rubber sheet, beads and
mirrors in making the eye-catching rakhis.
Grade 1
& 2
Students of grade 1 & 2 made
wall pieces and photo frames with ice cream sticks during the months of July –
August 2018. They coloured the ice cream sticks with acrylic colours of
different hues and used fevicol to paste decorative beads and colourful flower
cut outs using punch craft machine.
Grade 3
Students of grade 3 coloured
beautiful ‘Shubh Labh cut-outs’ made from discarded wood pieces lying waste in
the school campus during the period July – August 2018. Shubh Labh cut outs are
used by Indians to decorate the front portion of their homes especially during
the important festival of Diwali.
Grade 4
Students of grade 4 prepared
colourful pen stands with ice-cream sticks during the period July – August 2018.
They coloured the ice cream sticks
with acrylic colours of different hues.
Grade 5
Students of grade 5 brought old
handkerchiefs from home and prepared designs on them using acrylic colours
during the months of July – August 2018. They also made creative fridge
stickers using discarded certificates and printouts of cartoons.
Grade 6
and 8
Students of grade 6 and 8 made
Lord Ganesha idols using clay, fluorescent colours of different shades –
orange, purple, yellow, green as well as white plastic paint during the months
of July, August and September 2018. They
made two varieties of idols – a small one of orange colour and a big one of
different colours. The Ganesha idols are
sold before the advent of an important Indian festival, Ganesha Chaturthi when
the Indians place the idol for ten days at their home, worship it every day and
immerse it in water on the tenth day.
The Ganesha idols prepared in our school are made from clay and are
eco-friendly which do not damage the water bodies during immersion.

Students of grade 7 prepared hanging
photo frames using the left over portion of colourful rubber sheets, ribbons,
old certificates and fevicol during the months of July and August 2018.
