 WEBINAR ON ‘SUPPORTING STUDENTS TO LEARN FROM MISTAKES’

Raminder Mac, Lead Teacher of our business enterprise ‘Good Earth’ attended a webinar organized by School Enterprise Challenge, UK on April 24, 2020. The webinar was attended by 90 educators from all over the globe and delivered by Christophe Walder, Programme Officer, SEC, UK. The webinar focused on the following key areas:
·       What is Growth Mindset and why is it important
·  The Learning Journey – learners need to be resilient as the journey involves struggling, making mistakes, failing and learning from these mistakes
·      Practical Tool 1: Gallery Walk – How to help students give constructive feedback to their peers – by making their peers feel good about their effort and pointing them in the right direction to make improvements
·   Practical Tool 2: The Learning from Mistakes Spectrum – can be used by teachers to guide themselves and their students as well as can be shared with the students for developing metacognition
·  How School Enterprise Challenge is a student led platform enabling students to learn from mistakes
The webinar delivered by Christophe Walder with perfection provided the participants to share their thoughts about supporting students to learn from mistakes. Ms. Raminder Mac shared about the TEDEd Club being run in the school and how Gallery Walk can be used as an effective tool during the brainstorming sessions when the students present their ideas and their peers give them constructive feedback.
