Gaining
Hands-on Experience
To raise the start-up capital (for adhesive and
colouring material for our handicraft business) we decided to sell 95 kg
compost to parents and teachers at Rs. 20 per kg during the PTM (Parent Teacher
Meeting) of grade 1 and 2 on August 1, 2015.
The students of Eco Club of grade 10 weighed
the compost and made packs of 1 kg in the newspaper bags made by students of
grade 6 and 7.
The compost had been made by the students of
Eco Club during the period February – May 2015. It was produced from leaves
lying scattered in the school campus with no extra cost involved.
The waste of leaves lying scattered on the
school campus has been converted into compost – thereby using the concept of
‘reduce, reuse and recycle’. This would be our small contribution in making our
planet ‘green’.
